According to recent claims from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, now completing a 20-year prison term for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

Congressional Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a source provided evidence indicating the inmate is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was assisting the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Special Accommodations

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for Maxwell and her visitors.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which Raskin described as an exceptional measure given the potential danger and chance of unmonitored communications.

Reportedly on one occasion, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about who she should tell her associates to contact and how personnel would connect the communication to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the official as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the warden, who would hand them over to the inmate, for her to examine and change and provide them back to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a inquiry regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Recently, it was reported that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was more content at the new prison than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the Trump administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own personal ties to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on trafficking accusations.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” Raskin wrote in the document. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had instructed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, relatives or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

Raskin has asked for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
